These simple transceivers are good value but when there's a better commercial rig sitting on the bench I tend to use that rather than the worse one. I'd still recommend these for a beginner but I think, if you can solder at all, a uBitx is a better transceiver for $100 that covers all bands and I'd go for that.Peter Markshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13007012724570360389noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35901825.post-39627521418562336472018-05-07T07:37:15.372+10:002018-05-07T07:37:15.372+10:00Now that you have had the radio for a year, what a...Now that you have had the radio for a year, what are your thoughts? I understand that some modes, like PSK, can work on either sideband because they use phase shift, but remember that that the spectrum is flipped between USB and LSB so other modes like RTTY cannot be used on LSB unless your software supports the flip. I think fldigi can do this but I haven't tried it myself.Peter Markshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13007012724570360389noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35901825.post-72048621766379420732018-04-15T21:59:31.695+10:002018-04-15T21:59:31.695+10:00Thank you for your review - I have been thinking a...Thank you for your review - I have been thinking about picking one up as well.

Regarding the digital modes, is it not possible to work LSB but simply move the central frequency up?Edhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05856111465419796402noreply@blogger.com
